In the Night

The night
used to be
a bridge
I crossed
blindfolded
and fearless
knowing
the sun
would soon
return
to its usual
state of
illumination
but since
I know
how your
body fits
so perfectly
into mine
the night
is empty
without you
and so large
I am lost
and afraid
you were
only a light
inside
my dream.
